Money Manager Specialists meet one-on-one with clients to assist them with their finances by helping them pay bills, balancing their check book & reconciling their bank statement. The average commitment per client is 1-2 hours per month. Key Responsibilities: - Meets client in their home to pay bills, balance the check book & reconcile with the bank statement. (An average of 1-2 hours/month) - Completes initial orientation/training & attends periodic ongoing training of volunteers - Meets with program coordinator to receive client assignments and for ongoing support - Performs tasks in accordance to IL Department on Aging Volunteer Money Management Program Qualifications - General knowledge of household budgeting, maintaining a check register & reconciling with the bank statement. (Full training is provided) - Patience & professionalism (Experience with the elderly and/or developmentally disabled a plus).
