The United Way of Northwest Illinois is excited to unveil our Small Town Big Heroes Exhibit. The exhibit will be part of the Tour de Freeport. We need volunteers that are willing to help build the frames for these wonderful portraits that will be displayed on September 24th. Join us for a frame building workshop on August 24th at the Wagner House, located at 1 E. Spring St. in Freeport, IL. We will have supplies, but if you have a nail gun or small framing hammer that you could bring it would be helpful. Do not worry if you do not have experience in this area. Amy Dreibelbes and Amy Meier will be providing instruction. The Small Town Big Heroes exhibit is the United Way's opportunity to feature some of the "unsung" heroes in our community. We accepted nominations from all over Northwest Illinois early in May and we have selected 12 individuals and their stories to be featured in our exhibit.
